The Buddhist stupa Pha That Luang in Vientiane, the capital of Laos Pha That Luang is located few kilometers north of the city center. In the grounds of the stupa complex is a statue of Jayavarman the seventh, the last king of Angkor. The structure was commissioned by King Sai Setthathirat I in the 16th century and is an important national symbol.   Only a few days left before flying back to Amsterdam (from Bangkok)

Monk in the Wat Xieng Thong temple complex in Luang Prabang, Laos Wat Xieng Thong has been built in the 16th century by King Setthatthirat. There are many interesting mosaics and golden colored paintings in this complex.
