Temples in Bagan, Myanmar
Bagan is one of the former capitals of Myanmar founded in the ninth century. Bagan has the largest collection of Buddhist temples, ruins and stupas in the world.
In the 13th century the town was abandoned by the inhabitants. There are still hundreds of temples, often in relatively good condition.
Pagan has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2019 and is one of the top tourist destinations in Myanmar.
